The Northwest Business Environment Awards 2010 is seeking green heroes who are making the environment part of their company's success. The event, hosted by ENWORKS and the Northwest Regional Development Agency is a celebration of the crème-de-la-crème of the region’s environmentally-conscious businesses. Companies, both large and small, across all sectors in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire are invited to submit an application.

The region’s green heroes will be revealed at a prize-giving ceremony featuring speakers from industry, along with an opportunity to meet the winners and network with environmental and business leaders.

The awards, to be held in Manchester at the Bridgewater Hall on the 19th October (4-8pm) will be the most prestigious event in the region's green business calendar. The call for entries starts at the end of February and the closing date is 14th May.

Awards are presented for the Built Environment, Best Environmental Practice, Environmental Innovation, Environmental Champions and the Combating Climate Change Award, a new accolade for 2010.
