The Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) North West programme of Factory Network Events gives you the opportunity to visit high-performing manufacturing plants in the North West that have achieved significant improvements in profitability, productivity and efficiency.

These progressive manufacturing companies have agreed to open their doors to share their experiences and demonstrate how they have added value through the use of lean principles and innovation programmes. The visits also provide opportunities for networking and discussion with fellow manufacturers.

Sellafield Ltd is responsible for safely delivering decommissioning, reprocessing, nuclear waste management and fuel manufacturing activities across their sites at Sellafield in Cumbria and Capenhurst in Cheshire. The Capenhurst site is split into two, one side is owned by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and the other by Urenco UK Ltd (UUK). The NDA side is operated by Sellafield Ltd and consists of more than 13.5 km sq of available internal and external storage space. Capenhurst is due to become the UK’s first nuclear site to complete its main plant decommissioning programme and on the way has delivered the biggest demolition projects ever undertaken in the UK nuclear industry.
