Statistics from HMRC for the first nine months of 2009 reveal that total exports from the region were worth £17.6bn. Many economists are warning of the dangers of not exporting. The Telegraph went so far as to declare ‘Britain must export or die’. As well as advice and support from Business Link and relevant cluster organisations, such as NWtexnet for textiles, the main stop for information of an international flavour is UK Trade and Investment services.
